Blacklight Drive
They pulled the colour out of the universe.
You fly the last drive that can bring it back. Every kill feeds the Blacklight; every threshold reshapes your ship; every guardian you break tears another layer of neon out of a black, silent sky. Nothing here is a sprite: ships, enemies and bosses are living geometry, and the deeper you go the more of it you can see.
BLACKLIGHT DRIVE is a vertical shooter roguelite. Auto-fire, dodge, choose. Your arsenal is four attack slots and six modules; the run decides which offers you see, you decide what the ship becomes. Guardians end each phase. Beat one and it pays a bonus; die and you keep every scrap you earned.
In the demo
- The full five-phase campaign: Ignition, Signal, Overload, Cascade, Singularity, each with its own guardian
- Five guardians with staged fights: The Lattice, the Mirror Choir, the Fracture Engine, the Recursive Bloom and the Omega Polyhedron
- Six attacks with eight levels and a transformation each, six modules with five ranks, dozens of build synergies
- The monochrome-to-neon arc: colour and glow arrive as measurable progress, not a setting
- Foundation upgrades between runs (Scrap), Records to earn, ships to unlock
- Keyboard, mouse and controller
- Runs are about 35 minutes to a campaign victory, retries are instant
Coming
- Overdrive: the run continues past the Omega with escalating banks
- Alternate transformations, challenge contracts, more anomalies
- A Steam desktop build with the full soundtrack
Controls
WASD or arrows to move. Shift for precision. Firing is automatic. R rerolls an offer, B banishes one, Esc pauses. Enter confirms, Backspace or Esc goes back. Controller: left stick to move, A confirm, B back, Start pause.
